Biography
Waleed Saudi, M.D., MSMEd, is an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, with teaching responsibilities in both the School of Dentistry and School of Optometry. He teaches gross anatomy, head and neck anatomy, clinical neuroanatomy, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology and nutrition, and serves as course director for Gross Anatomy and Clinical Neuroanatomy.
Dr. Saudi earned his M.D. from Cairo University and his Master of Science in Medical Education from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM). His medical education training emphasizes student-centered learning, curriculum development, assessment and the application of evidence-based educational strategies. His teaching approach integrates foundational biomedical sciences with clinically relevant cases and uses Bloom's Taxonomy, when appropriate, to promote progression from foundational knowledge to application, analysis and higher-order thinking.
